Our accommodation also caters for guests with disabilities. The lodges and cottages are perfect for both weekend / week breaks and group residential visits. We are ideally based to explore the surrounding areas for lots of activities.
Hazel and Stable cottages have both been designed specifically for wheelchair users, with all accommodation on the ground floor and wider doors for easy wheelchair access. Both cottages also have wheel-in shower areas; grab rails and sideway transfers to the toilet. Most bedrooms and bathrooms have ceiling tracking for the use of a mobile hoist. The kitchens in these two cottages have adjustable hob and sink heights to allow wheelchair space underneath.
Kyte and Kestrel lodges also offer grab rails, sideway transfers and ceiling tracking in all bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor. These two lodges are very spacious and allow a lot of freedom to move around.
We also have a private indoor heated swimming pool, which can be used by all self-catering customers. It is equipped with ceiling tracking and hoist in the changing room area and a dipper into the pool. There is also a large shower room, which can accommodate a shower chair if this is required.
If you are looking for a shorter stay we also have some Bed and Breakfast rooms that have been designed with wheelchair users in mind. All of our rooms are on the ground floor and some of them have 'wet rooms' which allows a shower chair to be used. If you mention to us at the time of booking that a disabled room is required we can then place you in the most suitable room.
We have a variety of useful numbers that we can give you including the local doctors who we are registered with. For any extra equipment that you need and we are not able to provide there is a local company called Huntleigh National Care that hires out all the extra equipment you should need.
Please note, a charge of £2.50 per yellow waste bag will be made and reception MUST be informed, prior to departure, of the total number of bags left behind. Guests who leave Kingfisher Barn and yellow bags behind without informing reception will be fined £500.
